Guess it'll be a poem:
When we stopped reading hands on a clock
When we stopped sticking carbon in copies
When we applied digital filters
(At first just for fun,
But we'd soon merge as one)
That recolored our realities
Guess it'll be a poem:
When we stopped reading hands on a clock
When we stopped sticking carbon in copies
When we applied digital filters
(At first just for fun,
But we'd soon merge as one)
That recolored our realities
Start of something, not sure what:
When we stopped reading hands on a clock
When we stopped sticking carbon in copies

Because division triggers our political machine's easy mode and our representatives haven't the spine or moral fortitude to face boss mode.
Because we don't just Google our ailments, we Google our ideologies.
Because the messaging within our echo chambers isn't just isolated, it's an inversion, which makes moving from one chamber to the next as easy as accepting that up is down.
Because technology makes it easier than it's ever been for representatives to pick their people (instead of people picking their representatives).
Because social media supplanted print media in the reality fabrication supply line.
Because one side wishes for a multicultural democracy while the other wishes for a fascist uprising that installs an autocracy to address the resiliency issue I just mentioned.
Because you can't stop folks from f$&king each other, a little color goes a long way, and a party that panders to white supremacy lacks the resilience for withstanding a demographical tipping point that tags White as the minority to Not White.
Because we insist on two big f$&king tents, with their two ringleaders, and say, "Pick one or be disenfranchised."
Because one side believes in reproductive autonomy while the other believes in forced pregnancies (and forced sterilization).
Because one side believes in organic assimilation while the other believes in forced assimilation (while daydreaming about the return of segregation).
Because one side values the power of the people while the other values the power of the dollar.
Because one side believes in the distribution of wealth while the other believes in its consolidation.
Because one side wishes for a multicultural democracy while the other wishes for a white nationalist theocracy.
Here come a bunch of posts sparked by catching @mattklewis on #MorningJoe, all answer the question, "why are we divided?"
